VP, Data Analytics Portfolio Management

Chubb is seeking an innovative Data Analytics Portfolio manager. This incumbent will be the Product/Program Owner for development of data assets and Analytics solutions for North America divisions, focusing on P&C Commercial Pricing and Underwriting initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a specialist in P&C Commercial insurance products and technology, capable of envisioning and directing the creation of business-specific analytics and technical products. Key competencies include driving strategic initiatives, the ability to identify new use cases in collaboration with business stakeholders, capture business requirements, and facilitate effective collaboration across NA and Global Analytics teams.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of in-flight assets, acting as a spokesperson and champion for both new and existing initiatives, while driving concepts from idea to implementation. You will also collaborate with business unit leaders to support analytics asset development and ensure business requirements are met. Success in this position requires strong collaboration and influencing skills, as well as a background in insurance product management and portfolio management. Effective communication regarding the value of developed assets in response to business needs will be essential.

 

Responsibilities:

• Champion the development and delivery of segment-specific products into the NA landscape working closely with business stakeholders.
• Serve as an advisor on the process of determining the relevant success metrics and KPIs that will serve to measure outcomes once assets are productionized.
• Serve as a key advisor on the design of analytics applications (including models and APIs) and the inputs required alongside suitable work plans for building business-facing assets.
• Responsible for transitioning requirements to the cross functional teams like global data team, IT/Operations and global analytics team.
• Serve as an advisor providing oversight of POCs and MVPs intended to prove long-term value to the business.
• Advise NA Data and Analytics Leadership, as well as other leadership teams, and recommend strategies and priorities around in-flight initiatives and assets to be developed relative to Chubb’s strategy and intended business outcomes.
• Work directly with the Data Science teams to review their work and ensure it meets the needs and requirements of the business units.
• Experience working with leadership to formulate and execute a strategic agenda, including process management and executive presentations.
• Oversee Data Enablement initiatives to build foundation and improve Actuary and UW decisions

• 5-7+ years of experience in data and analytics as a leader. Understanding of Insurance analytics applications and processes.
• Deep commercial carrier experience, particularly in P&C, particularly in the areas of pricing/supporting commercial UW teams and strategic projects
• Executive presence and excellent communication skills. Must be able to present complex issues in a manner easily understood by a non-technical audience.
• Experience providing data-driven consultation (either internally or as an external consultant) to business unit leaders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience.
• Hands-on experience in Data querying, data modeling, data mapping, relational databases. The candidate needs to have deep understanding of data considerations in P&C Insurance
• Preferred: experience working with MS SQL Server, Python, SAS or R
