Sr. lead, Infra Cloud Database Engineer
Tasks
- Act as technical escalation for production incidents
- Automate DBA activities using Python
- Build scalable secure highly available database solutions
- Define database reference architectures
- Design and engineer Oracle and PostgreSQL database platforms on Azure
- Develop runbooks and SOPs
- Drive ITSM changes using ServiceNow
- Drive capacity planning for cloud workloads
- Engineer HA and DR strategies including replication and failover
- Engineer encryption and RBAC controls
- Execute oracle postgres consolidation and IaaS to PaaS transitions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code for provisioning and monitoring
- Implement monitoring and performance tuning
- Integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines
- Lead on prem to Azure database migrations
- Manage secrets using Azure Key Vault
- Mentor junior DBAs
- Optimize cost and performance after migration
- Own end to end Oracle and PostgreSQL database lifecycle
- Perform backup recovery and DR implementation
- Perform root cause analysis and preventive engineering improvements
- Support audits and compliance reviews
- Upgrade patch and harden database platforms
