Principal Cloud Database Engineer
Tasks
- Define enterprise database standards
- Define monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies
- Design highly available resilient cost optimized GCP database solutions
- Drive database migrations to GCP
- Drive platform strategy and roadmap for database and AI adoption
- Enable data pipelines for AI ML workloads
- Enable secure connectivity with IAM and VPC
- Establish backup recovery disaster recovery and compliance best practices
- Evaluate and adopt AI assisted database operations and automation
- Implement AI enabled observability and self healing systems
- Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Integrate AI ML capabilities into database platforms
- Lead architecture design for GCP relational databases
- Lead database governance and cost optimization
- Mentor interns and engineers
- Partner with application DevOps and architecture teams
- Perform performance tuning capacity planning and reliability engineering
- Provide database improvements recommendations
