- Approve key technical outputs plans and estimates
- Assure compliance with standards legislation and engineering governance
- Conduct technical reviews and audits
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering practice and capability maturity
- Ensure projects are resourced with appropriately skilled engineers
- Escalate technical risk quality and engineering integrity issues
- Intervene to stop work on technical grounds
- Lead and develop engineering team leads and team leads
- Provide technical authority across projects and bids
