Firmware/Embedded Engineer – Contract / Consulting Role
Tasks
- Bring up and test peripherals
- Build and customize embedded Linux images
- Collaborate with QA on system validation
- Configure DHCP DNS MQTT HTTP HTTPS NAT and firewall rules
- Create watchdogs and automatic recovery scripts
- Develop MQTT HTTPS and WebSockets clients
- Develop embedded services for data acquisition buffering and routing
- Develop unit and integration tests
- Document system architecture and deployment guides
- Handle device provisioning and cloud connectivity
- Implement and manage Ethernet Wi Fi LTE and PoE networking
- Implement system health telemetry and remote logging
- Integrate OTA updates secure boot signed firmware integrity checks and rollback protection
- Integrate and test Linux drivers
- Integrate kernel modules device drivers and BSPs
- Manage certificates keys and access control
- Optimize boot time memory and power
- Optimize flash storage and file system usage
- Participate in code and architecture reviews
- Profile and tune CPU memory I O and kernel network parameters
- Support remote configuration and edge analytics
- Validate sensor and RF interfaces
