Tasks
- Administer Windows and Linux servers for backup and recovery
- Architect backup solutions using Commvault and Veeam
- Automate backup and recovery workflows with scripting
- Deploy and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Drive corrective actions for long term reliability improvements
- Enforce data protection policies and encryption requirements
- Ensure backup and disaster recovery compliance with standards
- Evaluate and recommend emerging resilience technologies
- Lead tuning and capacity optimization for backup systems
- Maintain backup workflows documentation and DR runbooks
- Manage SAN NAS and hyper converged storage for backup operations
- Mentor junior engineers on engineering best practices
- Monitor backup infrastructure health and performance
- Optimize backup restore strategies and retention policies
- Participate in audits and risk assessments for data resilience
- Perform root cause analysis for backup and restore failures
- Run recovery tests to validate disaster recovery readiness
- Serve as backup and disaster recovery subject matter expert
- Support VMware vSphere and Nutanix AHV virtualization
