Tasks
- Administer nonintravenous medication
- Assist physicians and nursing staff in patient care
- Change wound dressings and obtain wound cultures
- Collect blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary
- Coordinate patient care as directed by providers
- Follow infection control privacy and confidentiality policies
- Operate diagnostic equipment and perform quality control checks
- Perform EKGs
- Perform simple specimen collection using noninvasive techniques
- Prepare and sterilize medical equipment using autoclave
- Provide patient intake and information gathering
- Record patient care documentation in medical record
- Remove staples from superficial wounds
- Room patients and prepare for examination
- Support standard delegation of orders
