- Define AI ML roadmap with measurable outcomes
- Define async contracts schemas and eventing patterns
- Define incident response runbooks and postmortems
- Deliver low latency scalable inference
- Establish MLOps and LLMOps registries CI CD canary AB tests
- Hire mentor and develop team
- Implement data privacy security compliance RBAC secrets auditability
- Implement observability and safety guardrails
- Lead AI engineering function
- Lead model and prompt lifecycle data curation training evaluation deployment rollback
- Manage build vs buy vendor strategy budgets and SLAs
- Manage roadmap and capacity planning
- Optimize inference throughput and cost autoscaling batching quantization distillation caching
- Organize sub teams with ownership
- Own LLM gateway APIs and proxy routing
- Run offline online evaluations drift and cost monitoring
- Set technical bar and review practices
- Track prompt and model lineage and reproducibility
