Senior Database Engineer

Tasks
- Automate database operations deployments backups patching failovers capacity scaling
- Define document database best practices and standards
- Design implement maintain SQL Server environments on premises and AWS
- Diagnose resolve locking blocking deadlocks and performance issues
- Implement and maintain OLAP structures and support analytical workloads
- Implement data security controls TDE IAM database authentication encryption at rest and in transit
- Implement manage distributed transactions across application layers
- Lead incident response and blameless post incident reviews
- Manage SQL Server Always On availability groups replication clustering and startup configuration
- Mentor junior engineers
- Modernize databases via cloud migration and managed database services
- Monitor system health and adapt to load changes
- Perform query optimization using execution plans and tuning
- Plan and test disaster recovery across regions
- Profile workloads using traces performance counters and DMVs
- Provision database infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Support SOC2 and HIPAA audit and compliance
