Mechanical Design Engineer: Robotics Simulation and Modeling
Tasks
- Build and use kinematic and dynamic models for joint architectures
- Conduct drop shock and impact survivability analysis
- Correlate simulations to bench and robot tests
- Create technical documentation and design recommendations
- Define boundary conditions load cases acceptance criteria and correlation plans
- Drive design changes based on analysis findings
- Establish simulation workflow best practices with validation and versioning
- Evaluate workspace singularities joint limits torque requirements and efficiency
- Optimize weight using topology shape and size optimization
- Own end to end FEA for humanoid subsystems
- Perform structural analysis and interpret results
- Provide actionable guidance to hardware and controls teams
- Quantify power energy usage and thermal implications
- Run modal analysis and characterize vibration behavior
