Principal Systems Engineer, Database Infrastructure
Tasks
- Align database roadmap with product needs
- Automate promotion and cross region replication
- Configure storage settings
- Design replication primaries and replica tiers
- Drive multi year database architecture strategy
- Implement zonal and regional failover
- Influence system design early
- Lead database capacity planning
- Maintain database administration practices
- Make near term architectural decisions for cloud readiness
- Manage database kernel tuning
- Migrate to new VM and disk generations
- Own replication topology and failover automation
- Plan instance sizing and reserved capacity strategy
- Respond to production incidents during on call rotation
- Select compute and disk SKUs
- Serve as database internals subject matter expert
- Set database platform technical direction
- Shape fleet migration path to Azure
