Tasks
- Administer non intravenous medication
- Change wound dressing
- Collect blood specimens via capillary
- Collect blood specimens via venipuncture
- Collect specimens using noninvasive techniques
- Conduct telephone and in person screening for intake and information gathering
- Coordinate patient care as directed by provider
- Ensure policy compliance including infection control privacy and confidentiality
- Follow Standard Delegation of Orders
- Follow up on supply discrepancies
- Identify and correct documentation errors
- Inventory and rotate supplies
- Obtain cultures
- Operate diagnostic equipment
- Organize exam and treatment rooms
- Perform EKGs
- Perform equipment quality control checks
- Perform patient care at expert level within medical assistant scope of practice
- Prepare and sterilize equipment using autoclave
- Provide customer service
- Record patient care documentation in medical record
- Remove staples from superficial wounds
- Stock clean and sterilize rooms and instruments
- Support infection prevention environment
- Train and mentor medical assistants
