Tasks
- Configure validate tune troubleshoot DS8000 storage copy services
- Define HSM migration backup recall policies
- Define storage standards naming conventions capacity models resilience policies
- Design and maintain GDPS Metro XRC replication architecture failover processes
- Design zFS layouts for zOS UNIX workloads
- Evaluate new storage technologies for fit risk compliance adoption
- Lead IBM Z storage architecture across DASD flash tape SAN replication
- Lead MSP service reviews for technical standards delivery quality mainframe storage
- Lead storage capacity planning using RMF SMF 42 DS8000 metrics
- Maintain GDPS scripts and validate configurations after hardware change
- Monitor MSP stability and drive service improvements using incident trends drift
- Own IODF HCD storage definitions validate paths before IPL
- Own SMS policy design aligned to data lifecycle retention resilience capacity
- Provide executive reporting on storage health capacity replication risk
- Review MSP design documents diagrams reports plans RCAs changes
- Serve as design authority for storage upgrades refreshes change implementation DR testing
- Troubleshoot storage path channel IOS issues during changes incidents
- Validate tape subsystem connectivity paths definitions cabling
