Staff Database Engineer
Tasks
- Analyse optimize SQL queries using execution plans and AWR ASH
- Conduct root cause analysis for performance incidents
- Define and track database uptime performance reliability KPIs
- Design implement maintain backup recovery using RMAN and Data Guard
- Identify remediate inefficient SQL indexing and optimizer statistics
- Implement cloud based database solutions AWS RDS and OCI DBaaS
- Implement maintain database security controls auditing encryption access management
- Implement permanent fixes and automation to prevent recurrence
- Investigate resolve locking blocking deadlocks with root cause analysis
- Monitor system health and identify performance bottlenecks
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
- Perform database installation configuration tuning patching upgrading
- Perform on premises to cloud migrations using Oracle GoldenGate
- Perform patching and vulnerability remediation
- Take ownership of complex database activities
