Kafka Platform Engineer
Tasks
- Architect deploy and manage Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform environments
- Build Infrastructure as Code for Kafka using Terraform and Ansible
- Deploy Kafka on Kubernetes using Strimzi and Confluent Operator or managed cloud services
- Design Kafka cluster topology and partitioning strategies
- Establish event streaming standards governance and mentor engineering teams
- Implement Kafka security using SASL SSL mTLS ACLs RBAC encryption
- Implement high availability disaster recovery and cross region replication
- Manage Kafka Connect Schema Registry Kafka Streams and ksqlDB
- Optimize Kafka performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Set up monitoring alerting logging and observability using Prometheus Grafana OpenTelemetry ELK
