Staff Database Engineer
Tasks
- Build database observability and performance monitoring
- Conduct root cause analysis for database incidents
- Create database automation and operational guardrails
- Define performance baselines and alerting standards
- Design database architecture for platform services
- Lead incident response for major database incidents
- Mentor engineers on database operations and troubleshooting
- Operate and improve production database environments
- Perform version upgrades and replication tuning
- Provision and configure database systems
- Review database impacting changes across teams
- Troubleshoot query latency lock contention and replication lag
- Validate backups and test disaster recovery
