Director, Data Governance
Tasks
- Assess data governance processes identify gaps risks opportunities
- Build data quality framework monitoring alerting remediation
- Conduct data classification for enterprise taxonomy and remediate unclassified data
- Define data ownership and stewardship assignments
- Develop data catalog and metadata management capability
- Engage executives on data risk compliance posture governance maturity
- Ensure data handling compliance with regulatory contractual requirements SOC 2
- Establish data lineage practices
- Execute hands on governance work while scaling governance team
- Implement security and classification for AI data use
- Integrate governance requirements into data pipelines and semantic models
- Maintain role based access governance access controls request review periodic access reviews
- Own and evolve data governance operating model quality bar strategic direction
- Partner with Legal IT Privacy on data handling requirements
- Review SQL models and pipeline logic for business purpose alignment
- Review processes systems protocols for critical data and partner with engineering
- Support compliance reviews control assessments and system accuracy with Internal Audit and IT
